How quickly will my order ship?
Orders ship within 3 business days. It can sometimes take a day or two extra depending on holiday closures at the post office. Also, we live in a small town so it takes a little more time to make it to the regional processing center. If you need a cassock for a specific date, we suggest you plan well in advance as we have no control over shipping delays.
I've received my cassock, exorasson, or sticharion and it seems very roomy?
Krista is trained in the Greek style, which is designed to be roomy for better air circulation and comfort while wearing multiple layers of garments in a warm climate, and all of her garment designs for East Rome Designs garments are done in this style. Each cassock, exorasson, vest, and sticharion is designed to have additional ease so you do not need to add extra inches when calcuating your measurements. It is also a more forgiving fit for the measurement changes associated with fasting seasons.
Why don’t I see the size or color I want?
We purchase our brocades in quantity and then use standard sizes and batch cutting to keep our prices low. This means that everything we have in stock is on the website; if you do not see an item you are looking for in the color or size you need, that means we do not have it at this time. We recommend clicking the “Notify When Available” button if an item is out of stock and signing up for our emails to be the first to hear when we have added new colors or sizes.
The garment I bought doesn't fit and I need to return it--what do I do?
You can return any garment as long as it has been tried on only (not worn) and is in like-new condition. To return a garment, please ship to the address on the shipping label and make sure to include your order number or a copy of your packing list (we are unable to process a return without your order number). Once we have received your garment we will process your refund to your original form of payment. We do not offer exchanges so if you'd like a different size, please reorder that size. It takes 7-14 days to process returns.
Can I send you a list of what I want and have you send me an invoice?
No, we do not prepare invoices. All orders must be placed through the website which helps us fulfill orders in the most efficient way and keeps prices significantly lower.
Do you sell fabric, supplies, or patterns for making vestments?
No, we do not sell supplies or patterns. We do offer a vestment repair kit (on the Priest Vestment page) and a cassock repair kit (on the Cassocks page). If you need supplies, we recommend LaLame in New York.
Are you offering any custom tailoring services such as custom-tailored cassocks, vestments or altar cloths?
No, we no longer offer any custom tailoring services. After 28 years of making custom-tailored vestments, we know firsthand how time-consuming custom vestments are, and therefore why they are so expensive. The standard sizes we have developed for East Rome Designs are based upon thousands of measurements Krista has worked with over the years, and when combined with batch cutting result in maximum cost effectiveness, savings which we pass onto you through lower prices. As of Jan 2024, Krista has retired from custom tailoring and is no longer able to offer price quotes on vestment or altar cloth projects.
Do you offer subdeacon vestments?
Because the Greek liturgical tradition makes no distinction between subdeacons and deacons vestments (other than the manner in which the orarion is worn and the use of cuffs), we recommend purchasing one of our deacon's oraria and wearing the orarion in the subdiaconal manner.

We do not take phone calls as it takes us away from cutting, sewing, and fulfilling orders. We invite you to visit the FAQ page at the website as we regularly update it as questions arise. Due to our city's home business regulations, we are not allowed to have customers in person at our workshop.
